Major Soccer League Combine selection matches on Curacao
The Major League Soccer Caribbean Combine is an annual showcase of Caribbean football talent in the category U-23, organized by Major League Soccer and the Caribbean Football Union. Major League Soccer is a professional soccer league, sanctioned by U.S. Soccer, that represents the sport's highest level in both the United States and Canada.
The Caribbean Combine provides an opportunity for Caribbean players to be observed by MLS scouts and a chance of being invited to the MLS Combine, an invite-only showcase event held in Florida. This year the MLS Combine will be January 8-13, 2016 in Florida. The preliminary rounds were held on three Caribbean Islands. Curacao was one of the hosts and hosted 10 selected players from Aruba, Bonaire, Dominican Republic and British Guyana. Those 10 players were added to the 10 best players of Curacao in this particular age category. CFU General Secretary Neal Cochrane and MSL coach Ezra Hendrickson were present on our island during the event.
