Curacao Futsal team out after 3-6 loss against Costa Rica

The Curacao Futsal dream is over. Yesterday they lost the match against Costa Rica and thus their chance at a spot in the semifinals of the CONCACAF Futsal Championship 2016 and a ticket to the Futsal World Cup. The Curacao Futsal team did perform well though in their first competition at CONCACAF level. A draw against CFU champion Cuba, a 7-4 loss against Canada and 6-3 loss against ruling CONCACAF champs Costa Rica.

Cuba (1W-1D-1L, 4 points) will return to the Futsal World Cup for the first time since 2008 thanks to the combination of a 7-4 win over Canada (1-0-2, 3) and Costa Rica’s 6-3 victory against Curacao (0-1-2, 1) on Tuesday night in the 2016 CONCACAF Futsal Championship at BN Arena.
